Gabriel has lost both top front teeth. Of course there is the remnants of his last snack still on face, but that is normal for Gabriel, the little guy is always hungry lately!

Daniel and Holly have just celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary. They make a great looking couple, and they made some gorgeous babies together too.

Tomorrow I am going into the hospital to get a new knee. This one is supposed to be guaranteed to last 30 years. Not looking forward to the next few weeks, but very much looking forward to being able to walk without pain.

Newly Spun Yarn

I finally finished spinning my merino and silk. The color is English Garden, and it's 70 percent merino 30 percent silk. Now I get to decide what to make out of it. Yea! Let the knitting begin!

First Snow Day

Woke up to snow on the ground this morning. It is very pretty, but so cold, I think it got down to 23 degrees last night.

Raspberry Danish's

Brittney spent the night last night, then got up and "slaved" over these delicious raspberry danish's this morning. Stephanie's kids are really becoming great cooks. Brittney prefers baking over cooking though.

Roll them out, spoon the cream cheese mixture over them, and fold.

Now they are ready to be popped in the oven.

When they come out of the oven, spoon the raspberry jam on, and drizzle the glaze on top, and you are ready to have a morning treat. Yummy with coffee!

Thanks Brittney, as usual, you are a joy to have around.

Weston's Homemade Deer Stew

Weston made deer stew from scratch for supper tonight. Yummy! It was very good. It is so sweet to think about his little hands cutting up the meat and all the veggies. He is really turning into quite a little chef.

A Bright New Day

The past few days have been cloudy and gloomy, but today the sun is shining and it is beautiful outside.

Daniel came over and showed me how to work my webcam, as a bonus, I got a cute picture of him.
He is always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it. He is an awesome son, brother, husband, and father.

I started a new knitting project last night, but I can't post pictures of it yet, or even say what it is, because it's a birthday present for sister.

Her birthday is Dec. 29th, so I have to get it done, and sent off before my knee surgery December 26th.

Year At An End

I can't believe this year is almost over. There has been a lot of things happening this year, but I'm not going to play catch up.  I'm just going to try to do better. I get so busy living life, that I forget to write about it.

We had a great Thanksgiving, hope everyone else did too. Lots of good food, and catching up with family. We didn't even have a lot of leftovers this year, I guess everyone came ready to eat! We had a treat this year, Weston made the dressing. Stephanie is really teaching her children to be awesome cooks. Weston (10) has also made homemade deer stew recently, and Gabriel (7) made homemade chili. Brittney (12) likes to bake and she made some raspberry cream cheese strudels that melted in my mouth. I only got a little bite though. No fair!

I have been knitting like crazy lately. I have been trying to finish up hats and mittens because it is getting cold. Miss Ginger likes to go outside every couple of hours, and if I don't go with her, then her nose takes her to places she really shouldn't go. So I have to bundle up. I think I look silly in a hat, but I like this one that I finished last week, and I finished both matching mitten's too. I don't like a hat that clings too much to my head, but this one doesn't do that. Love the cables.

Here's one more picture from Thanksgiving. My Dad and Jeannette. I am very thankful that my Dad is still with us on this earth. Mom went to heaven December 9. 2002.

Rain, rain, go away...

That means storms too! We have had so much rain lately, we are just soggy! My heart goes out to the people in Joplin Missouri. That was a terrible storm. We got it here too, but fortunately, no tornadoes. We are keeping the residents of Joplin in our prayers, and making donations too. I encourage anyone who has extra household goods, clothing, toys etc. to find a local donation spot and help.

Even though the weather has been terrible, we have had lots of new babies born this Spring. Calves, a beautiful foal, bunnies and chicks.

It's amazing how they get up and start scampering around not long after they are born. I love watching the cow "families". Last years calves will try to nurse right along with this years new calves if the mommy would let them!

Snow Day!!!

It is snowing like crazy here today! I know that lots of other places have gotten a lot snow this winter, but we don't usually get this much.
Plus it's still coming down... in big beautiful flakes!

The kids, with Stephanie and Randy's help, even made an igloo a couple of days ago.

Yesterday was my birthday. I had a nice relaxing day, and got quite a bit of knitting done. Right now I'm working a a sweater for Randy, and a vest for myself. The vest is in "The Third Sublime Aran Hand Knit Book", and is called the Big Twist Vest. I have the back finished, which is just garter stitch knit, and I'm about half finished with the front, which has the big twist. Here a picture of what I have done right now...

Yummy and I'm Finished!

Last night we had the kids, and grandkids, over for supper. Randy cooked tenderloin, good old fried tenderloin. It was wonderful, he really has a way in the kitchen. Thank God, because most of the time, I can't or don't want to find my way in there!

I finally finished my Nora Sweater from the Interweave Knits Winter 2009 cover.
This sweater was so much fun to make, and it's going to be very warm and snuggly to wear. I don't have a completed picture of my version yet, but here is a work in progress picture.

The flash must have been really strong in this room, because it really isn't that bright of a red, it's called Autumn Red. The yarn I used was Caron Simply Soft, which is one of my favorite yarns to use.

I also just finished some fingerless mittens for Weston and Gabriel. They are constantly outside with either BB guns or Air Soft guns shooting at targets. So they needed some mitts that they could still wear and be able to use their trigger finger. Here they are...

The New Year

I can't believe it is the new year already, where in the world did 2010 go?

Some of us were sitting around the table on New Year's Eve talking about our blessings in 2010 and what we are looking forward to in 2011. I have so many things to be thankful for that happened in 2010, most of all is the good health of most of my family. I learned how to spin and got my new spinning wheel in the last year, also all of our livestock had healthy babies.

My nephew David and his wife Melanie had a baby boy, Jaxon Levi Rush, he will carry on the Rush name. Poor little guy, he already has the burden on his shoulders! He is a sweet baby, and I even have a picture of the four generations of Rush men...

I also got my little dog Ginger last year. THAT is something I didn't think I would ever do, but I did, and I sure am happy about it. For a while there I wanted to scream and throw my hands up yell, "I give up!", but I kept on, and she is pretty well potty trained now. I love her so much, and she is somebody else to knit for, yay! Did I say "somebody"? Yep, she's my baby.

When Daniel and Holly came over the other night, Chloe was all dressed up so cute, and she had on her poncho I made her at the end of last winter. Take a peek at her, isn't she a doll?

See? I have so many great reasons to be thankful, and God is so great, He just keeps blessing me and blessing me!

2011 here we come!
